I posted about negative Sarahah comments on my facebook page, but I want to address it here in a different way involving different comments…
My Sarahah hasn’t received many messages, but it has received enough to give me insight about me and what I do. I didn’t think I would like Sarahah, but it has emboldened people to tell me what they really think which is proving very helpful to me. I get a large amount of spam (unfortunate) and some really nice comments (thank you), and then I get the critical, ignorant, or rude comments (largely helpful). There are a couple critical, ignorant, and rude comments I want to draw attention to…
#1 involves my daughter, and I already addressed that on my facebook page. I will let that subject stay dead.
#2 I have been told anime art is for hacks therefore I am a hack. Well, thank you for your opinion, but I do art because it brings me happiness. I enjoy anime, so it feels natural that I put the two together. If you didn’t like it on some level, you wouldn’t be watching me and viewing my art. So with that said, anime rocks, art rocks, and I rock.
#3 My closed species idea is nice but my style for the art is horrible. Okay, valid point. I took this to heart and am redoing the adopts and some of the body features. My style tho is my style. I’ve had it for quite a while, have tried to change it to no success, and it really has grown on me (I like it and am comfortable with it).
#4 One person noted they like how I color (thank you) and said my art was the best they had ever seen (seems kinda trollish). Well friend, you haven’t seen much art then. I am nothing special and just do what I do because I love it. I have little time for it, but I make do with what little time I do have. There are artists out there with art leagues ahead of mine that you need to go see: Drachea Rannak, Ann4rt, Gilles Bone, theNekk, Snow, … to name a few. There are many more, and I try to learn from them just as they are learning every day too.
If you haven’t taken a tour of Sarahah, come test the waters by leaving me a comment. I won’t ever be able to find out it was you, and what you say may help me improve as an artist, person, parent, … or maybe brighten my day or piss me off. The options are endless haha!
Dropping my daughter off at either pre-school or daycare is always an entertaining thing. Some days it is all smiles and others it is all tears. Her smiles and tears mind you. Recently, she started “just one more kiss” and “just one more hug,” and it is so cute.
My daughter will cling to me and just hug and hug and hug me until the daycare provider has to pull her from me. She says, “Just one more hug mommy.” Sometimes she lies and says, “This is the last hug mommy.” It’s never the last hug – there is always one more… She does this with kisses too, and it just melts my heart! It really helps me reinforce to her that I will stay that extra moment, that I love her, and that I will come back for her which I think helps her feel more secure with me leaving her with her care providers.
But where there is heart melting, there is patience testing lol
“Just one more…” also works to test my patience… “Just one more minute.” “Just one more candy.” “Just one more episode.” The list goes on and on. I swear I say “no” more than any other word.
But even in the annoying and patience testing stages, “Just one more…” has become a standard of learning for my 4 year old. She counts the tangible “just one more’s” and proudly displays them for all to see. “Just one more episode” helps to reinforce her bedtime and a bedtime routine at the end of the night. “Just one more minute” lets me teach her easily about telling time and number recognition. There is so much for her to learn, and my daughter doesn’t even realize she is creating the blueprints for me to help teach her with all of her “just one more’s,” and it is amazing to see her grow!
I have been working really hard this month on this adoptable generator for my closed species, Ambrivans. I haven’t started the male generator yet, but I am making great progress on the female generator. The eyes are done, the linework is done, the back ribbons are done, and the tail ribbons are 25% of the way done.
It kinda sucks to have so little time to work on this project. I get an hour (maybe two hours tops) to work on it a day, and I had to take several days off for life things like the night I went grocery shopping lol Anyways, I am still doing good, so here is a couple WIPs for you XOXO
